When ya do get the trading post, plz dont just mash away on the upgrade button to catch the building up with the rest. Every upgrade gives you a new full set of caravans you can send to get drachs for, if take care to do this then you wont be throwing money away.
Ideally, when sending caravans (vans), send to league members first, if they're full then send to allies, then if no allies.
You can send vans to anyone with trading post, and you're not limited to just your city> you can visit any city to send vans.
Once you reach lvl 82 you will get your "Lab" to refine, when you upgrade the lab to lvl 82 then you'll actually be able to use it to begin refining.
